The first one isn't enough as it's not detected by the Kindle for the PC device I have, in terms of finding a TOC to which to go. When I have the original TOC in Word/HTML, the 2nd TOC is created and I can't get rid of the first one at this stage of the proceedings. The problem is when I don't create this original TOC, the 2nd one, the metadata one, isn't created in Mobi, even though I'm using headings H2 in my Word file. My calibre is 0.8.64 and I'm under Windows Vista, trying to create a Mobi file for Kindle. Well, as I am a beginner, I assume that the content TOC is the one created by "insert TOC" command in Word, and carried on to the HTML file. Metadata TOCs will give the people reading your ebooks a much superior navigation experience (except on the Kindle, where they are essentially the same as a content TOC). However, I don't fully understand the final part of it:įinally, I encourage you to ditch the content TOC and only have a metadata TOC in your ebooks. Is there any way to delete the Table of Contents that Calibre generated and stuck at the end? I've been looking all over Google for this and I can't find any answers. So now I have two Table of Contents - the one that I made and the one Calibre stuck in there.

mobi and uploaded it to my Kindle to test it out and see how it looks.Ĭalibre added a Table of Contents section at the very END of the ebook. In the Table of Contents section, I checked the box to make sure that Calibre doesn't generate a Table of Contents in the document (since I already have one)ĥ.

Install Calibre v4.20.0 Download the latest release of DeDRMtools v6.8. As far as I know this only works with books you've purchased and if you own a Kindle. You'll need the serial number of your Kindle device. htm file into Calibre and edited the metadata.Ĥ. Calibre can be used to convert kindle books to PDF by installing a plugin called DeDRMtools. htm file (Web page, filtered) and made sure there were no special characters in the document.ģ. I have a 2007 word document of my eBook that I created and included a fully-functional Table of Contents section that will link to various pages of the document.Ģ.
